So now we know. It was not the real thing. The huge prehistoric, 130 million year old Diplodocus skeleton, Dippy, soon to be removed from the Natural History Museum, South Kensington, is artificial – a cast made up of wire, wax, and plastic! Looking like a victim devoured by vultures, pecked to death, its flesh plucked to bare bones. Diplodocus’s skeletal remains, are sadly symbolic of many of émigré Poland’s flesh eating, asset stripping, fund-hungry, all-devouring ‘charities’ – the Polonia vulture trusts!
POSK’s Politburo Trust (No. 236745) is the chief vulture trust, followed by Ognisko’s TPP (The Relief Society for Poles Trust, No. 327128), the Marian Fathers Charitable Trust (No. 1075608), and the very strange – extinct? – The Polish Educational Trust Ltd (No. 06598300), are all part of a self-interest, self-serving, prehistoric self-preserving elite. These vulture trusts (‘charities’), and many more, appear to be the real thing, but do not be fooled – they are not.
In fairness to the honest old museum piece – soon to be replaced by the real, larger bones, of a true blue whale – Dippy never pretended to be anything other than a harmless, imitation dinosaur skeleton. But the vultures, (the trusts), these are a real menace. POSK’s Charity Trust, the Marian Fathers Trusts, Ognisko’s TPP, and the very strange Polish Educational Trust Ltd. These are phoney. Not real charities at all. They are all-consuming dangerous, ‘living’ prehistoric vultures, with no table manners whatsoever. It is high time these, and very many other, toxic vulture trusts, supposedly ‘charities’ representing Polonia, became themselves quickly extinct – but NOT before they give a FULL account of themselves, and return all funds, and assets, to where they rightfully belong – to Polonia, and the Anglo-Polish community.
The Fawley Court Affair is a scandal. The same can be said of the POSK Affair. Both affairs are prime examples of how not to run a charity but how to repeatedly over decades, deceive and milk of millions, members and beneficiaries – tens, hundreds of thousands of them! It shows how horribly wrong things can go when you have prized assets, property, funds, and testamentary bequests, fall, and go to waste, in the hands of small, shady monopolistic, self-serving, greedy, opportunistic, untrustworthy, law-defying, ‘registered charities’. It is strange, but instructive, how these different ‘charities’ get up to the same tricks.
At Fawley Court, a handsome Grade I red brick listed building, Pope John Paul II retreat centre, a Grotto enshrining the Holy Virgin Mary, Stations of the Cross, seven Grade II statuary and outbuildings, a folly, one chapel, and St Anne’s church with cemetery (Fr Józef grave), a magnificent and unique Polish émigré religious and war museum, all standing in sixty acres of protected parkland within a green belt, solvent, and without debt – now reduced to a spectre of its former glory. This was, or rather still is, Polonia’s Fawley Court. Even when poor, émigré Poles were rich – and remain so.
Stealthily stolen from under Polonia’s noses, today Fawley Court is heavily in debt, outstanding loans (£13m and rising), charged – at astronomic rates – to Credit Suisse bank, its obscure penniless owners, hiding behind some obscure offshore company. Curiously, among the strict terms and conditions of sale, drawn up by agents Marriots, was that the buyer have the full purchase funds in place within twenty eight days prior to exchange of contracts. The buyers did not have a penny between them ! They had to scrabble, and borrow left, right and centre. What a chutzpah. What a mix-up. (Echoes of Andrzej Zakrzewski’s and POSK’s Frascati fiasco).
Meanwhile, English Heritage, and the authorities watch as proud Polonia’s lovingly created 60-year heritage, Fawley Court, with its huge future Polonia potential, – all entrusted in the 1980s trustingly, but naively, into the hands of five, calculating amateur foreigner (Polish) Marians cleric-priests falls after five years of neglect into further ruin. How did this horror, this cultural and religious holocaust come about? In short, through the corrupt and willful manipulation of land titles, and (vulture) trust deeds.
After the dismaying, secretive closure in 1986 of Fawley Court’s famous school, a foreign language school, and then an old peoples home was set up. Elderly people with the promise of a blissful retirement at Fawley Court, gave up in return, through their last wills and testaments, their own riches: houses; jewellery; and money. These Polish pensioners were soon hounded out of Fawley Court, and shepherded to Laxton Hall, Northants – all part of an abortive ‘sales’ deal between the Marians and Polska Misja Katolicka (Polish Catholic Mission). Today, the authorities should take a rapid keen interest into two Polish Roman Catholic elderly peoples’ care homes: Kolbe House, Ealing, West London; and Antokol, Kent – the vulture trusts are hungry and circling.
The Marians, relying on an ambiguous, poorly drafted trust deed (No. 251717), from 1954, secretly doctored and perverted it even further, making a mockery of the original spiritual and legal aims, with a scheme (No. 1075608), ‘sealed’ in July 1994 by the trustee Marian priest Wladyslaw Duda, thus trying to usurp Polonia’s property – Fawley Court. Prior to this, in 1986, the Marians register the title of Fawley Court, correctly in the name of Divine Mercy College, on behalf of Polonia – unlawfully failing to register Polonia’s numerous interests – but instead register ‘ownership’ misleadingly to themselves a bogus trust – a vulture trust ! None of this helped the Marians vis a vis The Charity Commission which declared: You can sell the property, but we cannot rule on whether the property (Fawley Court), is yours (sic) to sell (!). Also little wonder then, that in the mid 1980s the Land Registry also confronted the Marians, demanding: “evidence of title” to Fawley Court – Caveat Emptor! Caveat Venditor! (Buyer Beware! Seller Beware !). Thus, a curious un-elected band (Marians), of no more than four/five persons, foreign and inexperienced, become impromptu trustees, act against both, the trusts own UK charitable religious aims, laws and objectives and UK Polonia’s interests. The same Marians spurred on by their HQ in Boston USA (another foreign element), force a quasi sale of assets and property in England and Wales, to which it has no claim – ethnic, legal, or moral. At the head of this scurrilous group were, and still are, Marian priests, P. Naumowicz, (permanently resident in Warsaw), W. Jasinski (now a fugitive in Rome), and A. Gowkielewicz – incredibly – still at POK, West Ealing, London. A recent, new recruit (from Poland) is the mysterious Dariusz Mazewski. As for Marian priest-trustee W. Duda, 52, he died two years ago in London, with former trustee-priest Tadeusz Wyszomierski, 66, who died in a car crash in Poland, In all, an un-explained, unresolved mystery and mess.
In stark contrast you have today’s saved, successful Ognisko Polskie. Polonia witnessed two battles; first the Morawicz led attempted sell-out; and then the worse, psyched up, Sawicki-Sikora axis, and their cunning assault and failed attempt at a club, and building grab. The end result? A momentous victory – again – for real, “like-minded”, Ognisko Polskie club members! Or so it seems. Today, searching back into its exceptionally unique Anglo-Polish wartime historical roots, and ties with the British Royal family, the club survives, continues, grows, and flourishes.
This year Ognisko Polskie proudly celebrates its 75th Anniversary. Much is promised in the way of parties, pomp and ceremony. During Ognisko’s revolutionary mayday-heyday, attempts were made (AGM, 25 November 2012) to convert Ognisko into an elitist (vulture?) trust/charity. Led by some from the breakaway UK Polish Knights of Malta, namely Barbara Arzymanov (a charity consultant, now a Tory councillor in the Westminster ward of Maida Vale ), and Mr Tobiasiewicz (Chairman of Polska Misja Katolicka), both made a pitch to convert Ognisko into a ‘Tax-Saving-Charity’. Their proposals sorely tested the patience of Ognisko members, and were overwhelmingly rejected. Earlier in proceedings, the vexatious Jan Sikora-Sikorski (still causing needless trouble over The Relief Society For Poles Trust, located in two, large almost rent free rooms at Ognisko, with capital trust funds of £1.3m, remarkably between 2009 and 2011, managed to spend close to quarter of a million pounds, £231,756.00 to be precise – on what?), was roundly booed when canvassing for the role of AGM Chairman for the day. Mercifully then, absolutely no chance of a vulture trust here. Instead Ognisko Polskie – now itself financially in credit – with club members holding the reins, firmly in control – or so it seems – anticipates a year of 75th (1940-2015) anniversary celebrations. Będzie historycznie, kulturalnie, hucznie! (It will be historically, culturally raucous”).
In between the above two episodes of temporary sell-out and success, we have the current mayhem, and madness at POSK – itself having just celebrated its 50th anniversary – the centre is driven by a self-elected, isolated, over-energized Politburo, out of touch with the needs of a modern properly run, transparent, cost-effective trust, charity or company.
POSK currently has a perfectly good, workable statute set out in 1964, outlining adequately the club’s aims, rules, and objectives. It might require minimal updating, some fine-tuning but no more. Any statute changes must be lawfully and democratically debated on by ALL (Is that 10,000 or 3,000?) POSK members, and an unshackled RADA (POSK’s feeble Advisory Council).
This nowy statut is being touted at POSK as something good, and in the members’ ‘interests’. Nothing could be further from the truth! The only interest here, serves the current elite. Decision making, and an all-powerful monopoly over financial and property issues, with a nowy statut (elitist Vulture Trust), would reside exclusively in their hands.
The worse case scenario would be the sale of the POSK building. The unlawful four flat conversions is already a ‘sale by stealth’ – wholly against POSK’s current aims, objectives, and rules. The bungled 4 Frascati Warsaw building is another example of law-tampering at the expense of members’ funds, assets, and time. In fact the new statut, would open the floodgates, and pave the way for the sale of the POSK building, and other properties, (value circa £45m). Avoid like the plague, POSK new ‘statut, and a Marian style vulture trust – at all costs. The situation at POSK is acutely serious, but not irreversible.
What is remarkable about these unelected Polonia vulture trusts, is how audaciously they break their own rules, and current charity law, and trust legislation. The example of the Marian (vulture) Trust (No. 1075608) is the most deplorable and shocking. Its avowed charter objects, (aims, rules and intentions), are very clearly spelled out: Any lawful Charitable Purpose or Purposes, connected with the Advancement of the Roman Catholic Religion. So: threatening law-abiding parishioners with Police action at a St Nicholas mass at St Anne’s Fawley Court in December 2009; criminally demolishing the private, sacred grotto of Our Lady; ransacking the private Church of St Anne’s of its urns, columbarium, holy votive placques, and spiritual artefacts and treasures; attempting bribing local Polish Roman Catholic Parishes (and Dziennik Polski); uprooting the sacred Fawley Court Stations of the Cross; raping the 50 year grave of Fawley Court co-founder, Fr Józef Jarzębowski; dismembering and looting Polonia’s cultural, military and religious Fr J Jarzębowski Museum; supporting villains hostile to the Christian precepts of the Polish Roman Catholic faith; child abuse and paedophilia; and stealing £4m of Polonia’s money, and handing it over to the corrupt Vatican Bank in Rome – is this all part of the advancement of the Roman Catholic Religion (!?). What in heaven’s name do these Marians teach our children at Catechism and Communion classes?! The Marians’ subversive, religious hypocrisy, disguised as a ‘charity’ – a vulture trust – beggars belief.
The Polish Educational Trust Ltd (No. 06598300) whilst not in the same league as the delinquent Marians – though possibly in league with them – fares no better. Nazdrowicz – with POSK Secretary A. Zakrzewski – headed the hopelessly failed Komitet Narodowy Obrony Fawley Court.) Of great interest to readers of „Nowy Czas” will be the fact that The Polish Educational Trust Ltd, on 25 March 2009, wrote to the Charity Commission declaring that: …it represents a wide range of individuals and organisations, which themselves represent a large proportion of the Polish émigré community in England and the wider community. The questions now are very simple. What has happened to this ‘large, wider, Polish émigré community in England and Wales’? What has happened to this trust? What has happened to the large funds it collected? What has happened to the enormous bundles of ‘evidence’ and archives it amassed? What has happened to the list of donor addresses it accumulated ? What has happened to its four trustee-directors?
Finally. Back to POSK. The Polish Social and Cultural Association Limited (Registered Charity No. 236745, and Company No. 816310), holds in its stated, written objectives to the Charity Commission that the POSK building and charity must be used for: Elderly/Old people education/training, Children/Young People of a particular (Polish?) ethnic or racial origin, makes grants to individuals, provides buildings/facilities/open space, Arts/ Culture/ Heritage/ Science. POSK instead of making more space available to Arts/Culture/Heritage/Science, quite astonishingly has something like fifty various businesses/company listings registered at POSK. Who are these firms, and who pockets the substantial fees? Area after area in the POSK building is closed off to art/culture/heritage and science use, and given over to unlawful property development of the four flats – entirely against POSK’s Charitable statement/objectives. And so it goes on. One dreadful breach after another. There now stands before POSK’s 3,000 to 10,000 members, and Polonia itself the challenge -– and chance – to clean up this unique social and cultural centre. See off the the dreadful nowy statut. If not, POSK will be lumbered with a Frankenstein, monster of a vulture trust, elitist and answerable to no one.
