Little Experiment 2014 art competition invites submissions from all practising visual artists based in London ranging from the young graduates of recognised art schools to mature artists, without age brier. Little Experiment 2014 has been selected as a special feature in the program of cultural events celebrating the 50th anniversary of Polish Social and Cultural Association Ltd. – POSK. Following on the success of first competition of this kind open only to members the Association of Polish Artists in United Kingdom (APA), the current Little Experiment 2014 is open irrespective of national origins of the applicant. The Little Experiment 2014 Competition is held under joint auspices of APA and POSK Gallery. Exhibitions will be held in POSK Gallery, 238-246 King Street, Hammersmith, London W6 0RF. The Jury based competition will select five prize winners sharing a pool of £3000 sponsored by Murdzenski Foundation.
Five prizes to be awarded are:
1st – £1500; 2nd – £500; 3rd – £500; 4th – £250; 5th – £250
Additional citations will be given by associate organisations.
The aim of the Little Experiment 2014 is to encourage and promote modern, experimental approach to contemporary art in all media - painting, sculpture, graphic arts including digital output, wall mountable and other installation art, photography, video, projection and moving image will be considered. To qualify the artists art work must be experimental in comparison with the rest of her/his oeuvre. A candidate is required to demonstrate in what respect proposed work is going beyond usual artistic practice in a short description of not more 100 words. There is a limit to size of wall mounted works which should not exceed 1.5 metre in any direction and 3-dimensional works not to exceed 2meters in any direction. There is no particular theme, yet non Polish artists are required to propose a work, that is inspired, related to, or has its roots in any aspect of Polish culture. Your approach/inspiration might derive from Polish art, literature, film, theatre, music or from a direct contact with the country.

The Little Experiment 2014 is to be divided in two parts holding two exhibitions.
A primary short-list of 60 artists will be selected by the panel of jurors from overall body of submissions. Further, the Jury will reduce the numbers down to 30 art works. The bottom half i.e. 15 runners up will be selected for March exhibition and notified via email on 10th March. Top 15 finalists will take part in May exhibition and will be notified separately after the 31st March.
Terms and Conditions:
− Short-listed artists will be notified by email or telephone.
− Artist is responsible for delivery and collection of the art work on the specified date to
POSK Gallery, 238-246 King Street, Hammersmith, London W6 0RF. See: Key Dates
− Art Work must be labelled with name, address and email
− Late art work will not be considered for prizes and exhibition.
− Submission fee is not refundable and is required for application to be considered
− It is the artists' sole responsibility to arrange insurance cover. Artist is responsible for
adequate insurance of the work for the period of the exhibition
− Taken together, he organisers, i.e. Little Experiment 2014 team, APA, the POSK Gallery and POSK Ltd. do not take any responsibility for any kind of damage, loss or deterioration of submitted artwork whilst on the premises of POSK and the POSK Gallery for the entire duration of competition and exhibitions. The Gallery agrees to notify artists of deterioration or damage to the work but will not affect any repairs. The repairs or costs said repairs are the responsibility of artist or his agents.
− The Organisers, i.e. Little Experiment 2014 team, APA, the POSK Gallery and POSK Ltd. reserve the right to use the images of artworks for the purposes of publicity and advertising
− No correspondence will be entered into in relation to all matters of the competition unless expressly invited by the organisers.
